Who Are We?
The Minnesota Science Fiction Society, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to furthering the appreciation of science fiction and fantasy literature. Minn-Stf was founded in 1966 and we've been active in the worldwide community of science fiction fandom ever since.

Upcoming Minn-StF Events

If you're new to Minn-StF, you should know that our "meetings" are actually parties. The traditional start time for a Minn-StF meeting is 2pm so assume that start time if a time isn't listed here, but be warned that most people don't show up 'til 4pm or so unless the "meeting" is a picnic or pool party. We encourage people to bring snacks or drinks to share at the meetings, but that's not required and hosts will provide some food and drink.

Saturday, July 19th - Minn-StF Picnic at Minnehaha Park in picnic area #2 (between Godfrey Pkwy and Nawadaha Blvd). Here is a link to a map of the park (it's a PDF); there's also a map in the Minicon 43 program book. The picnic will start at 2pm and run until dark (around 9pm). There will be a grill going for anyone who wants to grill something (bring your own food to grill). Minn-StF will provide some beverages and snacks, we encourage you to bring some food to share. There will be game playing, so feel free to bring table games or outdoor games. Later in the evening some of us will take a walk down to the falls. We recommend that people show up closer to 2pm for this event than they normally would for a Minn-StF meeting.

Saturday, August 2nd - Minn-StF Meeting at the home of Scott & Irene Raun (3928 11th Ave S in Minneapolis). Dogs, smoking outside. FFI: 612-822-0451, realitychallenged@fireopal.org, sraun@fireopal.org

Saturday, August 16th - Minn-StF & Minicon Meeting at the home of Matt & Kelly Strait. Minicon meeting starts at 2pm, the Minn-StF portion starts around 4pm (though Minn-StF members not on the Minicon committee are certainly welcome to show up for the Minicon part of things).

October 17 - 19 - Convivial 3 (2008 Minn-StF Fallcon) at the Holiday Inn Select in Bloomington, Minnesota. For more information and to register, visit the Convivial 3 website.

November 15th - First Pre-registration deadline for Minicon 44. The prices go up after that. For details and to register, check out the Minicon 44 Registration page.

The current issue of Einblatt always has a list of events for the current month (even if we fall behind on updating this website). It also includes other events possibly of interest to Minn-StF members. Short notice events are sometimes posted to the events email list and/or to the mnstf Livejournal community.
